Malad Valley History - Volume III

Early Settlers of Malad Valley Pre-1890

To be published in time for the 2008 Malad Valley Welsh Festival

We are beginning the compilation of the next volume of Malad Valley History. We hope to be able to provide a quality publication again for Festival 2008. Volume 3 will include any settler that came to the Malad Valley prior to 1890. We would like to invite you to contribute any histories that fall within this time period. Here are the guidelines that will be using for this volume:

  • The person had to have settled in the Malad Valley prior to 1890, regardless of country of origin. (We would really like to include settlers of all nationalities who make up the unique blend that has made Malad Valley

  • The history should include a cover-sheet with pictures and “vital statistics” - birth date and place, parent’s names, year of immigration etc. The biographical sketch should be no more than two type-written pages

Please, do not submit copyrighted material if it has been published
in another book it is copyrighted.

  • The history should be submitted in a Word document format on a disk. (If this makes no sense to you, please call me, and we will give you some help.) A hard copy of the sketch should be submitted along with the disk. You can also email them to Marianne Crump at callmomnow@hotmail.com. Please include in the subject line that it is a bio for the Malad Valley Book.

  • If possibly we would like pictures along with the biography. Because of the quality (or lack there of!) of old pictures we need an actual photo. We found emailed photos, photos scanned and printed from your computer or photos on disk all presented problems for us in transferring to the manuscript.

  • Deadline for the submission is March 15, 2008. We must adhere to this deadline to allow sufficient time for the publication process.
